Contact Sheet

The strongest images that are for consideration:
An image appropriate for this magazine would be the picture of the girls holding the guitar, as it looks professional and the guitara dds an intriguing affect to the image. The band members look as if they have a strong friendship which shows unity within the band which the audience will like to see.
I think that this would be a strong image for the front cover of the magazine as it is simple yet striking therefore would evoke interest within the audience.

In this image the girls have stronger makeup than in previous photographs which is because the image is highy focused on their faces. I think a closeup of their faces is good becuase immediately they would be recognisable with fans of the indie rock community making the audience more attracted and eager to read the article within the magazine.

This image was taken against a white backdrop. The image shows attitude and flair, which represents the genre of music. I think that audience would be attracted to a image in which they can familarise with.

The contact sheets were created on adobe bridge. During the photoshoot we wanted to style the models with different clothes and makeup to create diversity attracting all types of people to the magazine to widen the audience. On the first shoot we decided to take pictures of the girls indoors, both against the wall and then sat on the sofa. We introduced a prop ( the guitar) to make the image more creative a music based. In contrast, on the second shoot we took pictures of the girls both indoors and outdoors. The girls make up was stronger because these images were very focused on their faces rather than a prop. The outfits were changed to suit the genre like the first photoshoot because it attracts a suited audience to the magazine. The second shoot was also taken in the woods where we took individual photos of the girlsas from previous research we came to a decision that we wanted a strong individual photo for the front cover of the magazine as this is very simple yet striking.

The photos for our front page should be unique because Indie Rock fans like to be different, however it is shown that the audience tend to prefer more simplistic photos and colours. I think that different tones of blue would complement the magazine because the colours are attractive yet simple. Many other pictures are edited in black and white to add a grunge affect to the shoot, which i think would work well for our magazine because it looks sophisticated and indie.

These models are young, trendy and will appeal to audiences. They are relatable and the audience can identify with them. Both males and females would be attracted to the front cover, as the models are versatile. The models are female which contrasts with a typically male genre, which helps us stand out of other magazines, as others tend to have males on the front cover.
